Our History
From Roots to Resilience
Conserv Congo was born from a pressing need a response to the silent but devastating erosion of Africa’s biodiversity through wildlife trafficking, environmental crime, and systemic neglect. Founded by committed conservationists and legal professionals, the organization began as a small but determined initiative, intent on protecting species, forests, and the rule of law.
From its early days investigating illegal wildlife markets in Kinshasa to securing landmark prosecutions against poachers and traffickers, Conserv Congo has evolved into a trusted force in conservation and environmental justice.
Along the way, we became the first Congolese organization to train police and judicial officers in wildlife crime prosecution, partnered with global institutions, and influenced policy change in the region.
But our story is far from over. What began as a mission to protect nature has become a movement one that defends ecosystems, empowers communities, and brings international attention to the heart of Africa’s environmental crisis.
We are not only preserving history we are making it.
